International, interdisciplinary scientific conference "John Paul II: Reading History, Create History", was triggered by the role of the Polish pope in shaping contemporary history, his reflections on history and memory, and his actions, including the fall of communism in Europe and the pursuit of peace in the world. The conference brought together outstanding historians, theologians, philosophers, sociologists and numerous other representatives of humanities and social sciences, who looked at the influence of John Paul II on politics, spirituality and national identity.
The conference was organized by the Faculty of History of Adam Mickiewicz University in partnership with the City of Poznan.
