Short biographical note:
Ludmiła Grygiel (1943) - historian, essayist and translator. She publishes in Polish and Italian magazines. She studied history at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow (1961-1966). She was a trainee at the Institute of Medieval History of the Jagiellonian University (1966-1967) and an editor of Wydawnictwo Literackie in Krakow (1967-1970). In 1999, together with her husband Stanisław, she participated in the Second Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for Europe.
In Kraków (together with her husband) she belonged to a group of families friendly with Bishop Wojtyła. At the request of the Holy See, their family moved to Rome.
