Short biographical note:
Adam Bujak (born in 1942 in Cracow) - a photographer, author of over 100 albums, member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers, the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, the International Federation of Photographic Art in Switzerland. Awarded numerous prizes. Many of his albums are dedicated to John Paul II, whose ministry he documented from 1963 until his death.
He met Karol Wojtyła as a child, living in Tyniecka Street in Dębniki in Cracow. During the times of the Bishop and Cardinal Wojtyla, he shot pictures of the life of the Cracow Church and later documented the pontificate of John Paul II.
Summary:
Memoirs of Karol Wojtyła before his pontificate. Difficulties with censorship in communist times. Memorable photographs of John Paul II: from the rooftop of the Apostolic Palace and the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the Pope praying in concentration, and Ali Agcy during the court. Shot of faces, hands, papal gestures. Accompanying the Pope in meetings with the sick, and prisoners. Photographer's ethics.
