Short biographical note:
Miron Szydłowski (1939) - engineer, graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology. For 40 years he worked for the Polish Television as a specialist in production and broadcasting technology.
Since 1979 he was the head of the team preparing and carrying out radio and television broadcasts of all Holy Father's apostolic visits to Poland. Together with three colleagues, he constituted the staff that dealt with papal visits. During each of his pilgrimages he had a few-minute personal meeting with John Paul II.
Summary:
The pilgrimages of John Paul II to Poland in 1979, 1983 and 1987 from the point of view of the organizer of TV broadcasts: technical problems and challenges, restrictions of censorship at the time.
