Short biographical note:
Zenon Grocholewski (1939-2020) - cardinal, high official of the Roman Curia, and a lawyer.
Three years after his ordination to the priesthood, in 1966 he came to study canon law at the Gregorian University in Rome. For 27 years he worked at the Supreme Court of the Apostolic Signature, from 1999 to 2015 he was Prefect of the Congregation for Catholic Education. In 2001 John Paul II appointed him a cardinal.
While studying in Rome, he met Cardinal Wojtyla, who lived in the Eternal City, in the Polish College. After 1978, their contacts became more frequent due to their work in the Vatican, especially during the development of the new Code of Canon Law.
