Archdiocesan Archive of Warsaw

The collection of the Archdiocesan Archives of Warsaw on JP2online contains:

a) selected documents from the former Polish Primate's Secretariat (628 files), including:

• documentation of the organization of the first three John Paul II pilgrimages to Poland in the 1980s, including correspondence between the government and the Church, which is an important testimony to the relationship between the state and the Church in 1979-1987;

• the correspondence between the Primate of the Millennium and Cardinal Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II from 1976-1981;

b) audio recordings (60 mins in total) of speeches given by Cardinal Karol Wojtyła at plenary sessions of the Polish Bishops' Conference in 1968-78.
